NU CAMPUS COVID-19 REGULATIONS

Instruction (teaching and learning) mode

ALL didactic teaching and learning sessions CAN be delivered off-line (in-person). Face mask wearing is highly recommended in classrooms and when physical distancing cannot be maintained, including common spaces (ie atrium etc) across Campus and the Medical School building.
Group gathering (conferences and meeting rooms)
No restrictions but face masking is highly recommended when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Research Laboratory Access (monitored by Schools and Head of Units)

COVID Testing for asymptomatic Staff and Faculty who work at offices and labs and in contact with others

There is no requirement but HSE will arrange random testing, as needed.
Student Dormitory regime
As a rule, every resident must be G1; exceptionally admitted G2,G3 and G4 students must revert to G1 within a designated timeframe; G5 cannot be admitted.
Mandatory testing as instructed by HSE, maintaining safety precautions, avoiding gathering in shared spaces (kitchen, lobbies, etc.). No visitors.
Residential Complex regime

There is no requirement but HSE will arrange random testing, as needed.
Student Dormitory regime
Campus Resident household visitors should normally be fully vaccinated (G1) and may be checked with Ashyq (if available). If Campus Residents allow non-G1 visitors, they shall take responsibility for potential health risks related to their presence on Campus. Health care givers, cleaners, and nannies must also be fully vaccinated (G1). If residents had travelled overseas or have been away from Campus for more than 7 days they are recommended to have a PCR no more than 72 hours before they return to Campus.
Campus Access to visitors and non-Campus residents (faculty, staff, students and regular service workers)
No restrictions but face masking is highly recommended when physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Quarantine requirements for ALL faculty and staff returning to Campus after international travel
G1 individuals returning from international trips shall self-isolate for 3 days, and if asymptomatic, they can access Campus facilities and interact with NU Community with PCR taken 48-72 hours prior to their arrival or before accessing the offices/classes. Non-G1 individuals, including their family members, should conduct a PCR test after 3 days of self-isolation if they interact with the NU Community members. Please note that during self-isolation, essential visits to the grocery shops and garbage disposal are allowed with strict non-pharmaceutical precautions (face masks, physical distancing, and hand hygiene).
Service delivery on Campus premises

Only authorized delivery services for food, groceries, pharmaceuticals (drugs) and other items with strict non-pharmaceutical precautions (face masks, physical distancing, and hand hygiene).
Public services on Campus

University Health Center (UHC), pharmacy, beauty salon, grocery shops with regular working hours with strict non-pharmaceutical precautions. Cafes and dining facilities operate with enhanced safety measures to ensure physical distancing and limited group gathering.
Athletic and Sports Centers

Operational with separate access and strict non-pharmaceutical precautions. Limited number of visitors to ensure physical distancing in training sessions, upon verification of Ashiq status (if available) and PCR/RAPID test result, as above. Public events and competitions may be conducted with strict safety precautions.
Protocol for students, faculty and staff if feel unwell and/or have confirmed COVID-19 (tested with the positive PCR)

Please stay at home and contact your healthcare provider (polyclinic/ international health insurance/medical assistance company) so that medical supervision and required treatment are arranged, as necessary. Some self-administered express COVID-19 antigen tests may be used at home to assess the infection with SARS-CoV-2 earlier, but the professional medical assistance is still required to ensure timely treatment and additional diagnostics as necessary. Please, immediately call the state ambulance 103 or your medical assistance company if your health conditions deteriorate.

After you contact your doctor, if you have COVID-19 confirmed with a positive PCR please inform your supervisor and HSE (with completion of the online COVID-19 Contact Tracing and Case Investigation report) and let your close contacts know about your PCR test result for additional precautions.

Based on the CDC guidelines and in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health of the RoK, the individuals with COVID-19 confirmed with the positive PCR shall stay isolated at home unless hospitalization (treatment in the hospital) may be required. The isolation shall be completed after 10 days or sooner, after 7 days, if the individuals feel well and have a negative PCR on the 7th day.

All the students, faculty and staff members shall inform HSE about their positive PCR, follow the related instructions and provide the negative PCR to clear up access to campus after 7 days or complete the 10 days isolation. The close contacts shall follow the COVID-19 testing as instructed by HSE and shall seek medical assistance immediately if they have some symptoms and feel unwell. The students living on campus and sharing rooms with other students shall follow the instructions on isolation from HSE and Student Housing team.

Public events, national and international conferences, meetings, workshops etc.

May be conducted with safety precautions approved by HSE based on the information which shall be provided by the organizing party and responsible units: time, venue, details on participants and related COVID-19 safety measures (vaccination, mask wearing, testing for COVID-19, etc.).
