Art exhibition "How I see abuse"

Dear NU Community,

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is observed on 25 November every year. The main idea of this day is to raise awareness that women are exposed to different forms of violence and to highlight that the scale and true nature of the issue is often hidden from the public.

Gender-based violence remains one of the major issues nowadays. 1 in 3 women worldwide has experienced physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. This number hasn’t changed in the past 10 years – and now the situation is intensifying due to the effects of the pandemic.

Today marks the launch of the UNiTE campaign (Nov 25- Dec 10) — an initiative of 16 days of activism concluding on the day that commemorates the International Human Rights Day (10 December). This campaign aims to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world, calling for global action to increase awareness, promote advocacy and create opportunities for discussion on challenges and solutions.

Violence against women relies on a culture of silence - raise your voice today. Join 16 days of activism!

Your voice, your action, has the power to help make a change!
